Rockwall’s Sam Crawford named to Dallas Morning News All Area 2nd team

ROCKWALL – Rockwall wide receiver Sam Crawford has been named to the Dallas Morning News’ Second Team All-Area Team.

The 6’1″ 190 lb. junior caught 77 passes for 1,436 yards (18.6 per catch) and 15 TDs, He also rushed for several TDs.

All-Area Player of the Year was Lake Ridge senior quarterback Jett Duffey who led his 15-0 team to the State 5A Division 1 Title Game.

Duffey threw for 2,756 yards and 29 touchdowns and rushed 172 times for 1,688 yards — nearly 10 yards per carry — and 19 touchdowns. He graduated early so he could attend Texas Tech, where he will play next year.

Rowlett wide receiver LaDarius Dickens was named to the First Team. The 5’9″ 185 lob. junior caught 93 passes for 1,446 yards and 17 TDs. He also ran for five scores for Rowlett, which finished 10-3. He will return next year to play Rockwall.

Senior running back Ja’Ron Wilson of Euless Trinity, who played against the Yellowjackets last season, was named to the Second Team with Crawford. The 6’0″ 185 lb. senior rushed for 1,860 yards (9.7 yards per carry) and 21 TDs rushing.

Sachse senior wide receiver Devin Duvernay was also named Second Team.  The 5’11” 193 lb. Baylor pledgecaught 62 passes for 1,142 yards and 16 TDs.
